And then there's that feeling you get when you make something yourself that you're proud of. It doesn't have to be good, or even sell, but if you like it and it makes you happy and gives you -that- feeling, well, that's better than anything!
I've been painting a lot more this year, and while I still have a loooong way to go and I'm not fooling myself about it, I've also gotten to the point where I can make stuff for myself that I want and like and don't have to pay someone else to do it for me. I'm still only at the -paint toys stage- but I've slowly ventured into Breyer Classics and one Breyer Trad. (Poor Totilas, he still doesn't know what hit him hahah).
My home grown stuff wouldn't sell diddly squat against the talent that's easily available on eBay and for great prices, but you know what? That's totally okay with me, because I always paint stuff I want to keep anyway! Can't wait to see what else I end up creating this year! <3
PREDESTINED FOR WHAT? BY STEVE FINNELL
ReplyDeleteAre men predestined? Yes, but predestined for what?
Those who, believe that Jesus is the Christ, are predestined for salvation.
Men are not predestined by God "to believe" in order that they may be saved. All men have free-will to believe or to reject Jesus as the Christ.
Ephesians 1:11-14 also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, 12 to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory. 13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation---having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory.
The Ephesians were sealed with the Holy Spirit because they believed; not because they were preselected "to believe" in order to be saved.
Christians have been predestined for salvation, however, it has not been predetermined who will become Christians.
DOES THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER TEACH PRESELECTION FOR SALVATION? No, it does not!
Luke 8:11 "Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God.
Luke 8:12 Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved.
Did God send the devil to take the word from their heart because He did not preselect them for salvation? Of course not. Neither did God send the devil to deceive Eve, so Adam and Eve would sin against Him.
Luke 8:13 Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away.
Does God let some believe for a while; then cause them to fall away because He did not preselect them for salvation? No, He does not.
Luke 8:14 The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones have have heard , and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.
Is it logical that God would have the gospel preached to those He has already selected to burn in hell?
8:15 But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, hold fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.
Salvation is achieved by an honest and good heart. God does preselect babies in the womb and transplant a good an honest heart in them, so they might be saved.
